Katie Frisbee

Certified Massage Therapist

I am a graduate of Health Works Institute in Bozeman, Montana.  I have been practicing massage therapy for two years in a chiropractic office.  My goal is to attain long term clients and provide the highest standards in service and professionalism, ensuring client satisfaction.  I will constantly strive to attain values of fairness, honesty, and quality with my services.  My intention is to help clients become more self-aware, so we can work together toward long term health.  By maintaining consistent therapeutic treatment, tracking progress, and working toward improving health by setting attainable goals.  Below are some of the areas that I was trained in.

  • Swedish Massage- Strokes can be combined in various ways to artfully perform a deeply relaxing or invigorating massage
  • Myofascial Release- Application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system in order to reduce facial restrictions.
  • Neuromuscular Therapy and Trigger Point Massage- Re-education of the neuromuscular system in the client.  Perpetuating factors are identified and palpation and compression treatment is given.
  • Sports Massage- Pre- and post-event massage therapy for competitive athletes , as well as methods for helping all active clients maximize their fitness activities.

What I believe about Massage Therapy

It is so easy to get caught up in the race of life.  Often times we don't eat as well as we should, or get enough exercise or rest.  The more we run to catch up in life the farther we get from listening to what our body needs to keep going.  We continue to try to meet the needs of the people in our lives, when really we are not even meeting our own.  Allowing time for massage is a way to recharge our internal batteries.  Massage has positive effects on us physically, physiologically, and emotionally.

  • Reduces heart rate
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Increases blood circulation and lymph flow, enhancing immunity
  • Relaxes muscles
  • Improves range of motion
  • Increases release of endorphins
  • Stimulates weak or inactive muscles
  • Speeds up recovery time from exercise or injury
